The ILO brought together key labour migration stakeholders from the Philippines and Indonesia at a bilateral meeting in Manila, Philippines on 6 March 2024. Representatives from Indonesia’s KSP (Executive Office of the President) and their counterparts from the Philippines Government were provided with a platform for both countries to share good practices and lessons learned on labour migration governance. In particular, Indonesian stakeholders had the opportunity to learn about the newly established Department of Migrant Workers in the Philippines, which is newly mandated to regulate the recruitment and deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers.
