ILO and IOM launched a call for proposals for small grants to support local CSO and trade union actors to deliver localized safe migration, labour rights, protection and assistance services to migrants in Myanmar and Thailand. In particular, the grants are meant to facilitate increased cross-border cooperation between these actors in Myanmar and Thailand.

The small grants programme received a great deal of interest from organizations in both Thailand and Myanmar. As of the deadline on 27 March, a total of 104 proposals were received (76 in Myanmar; 18 in Thailand; and 10 covering both countries) and are currently being reviewed for funding. The grants are being provided as part of the ILO/IOM cross-border cooperation meetings that are held virtually on a bi-monthly basis between CSOs, trade unions and international organizations working on safe migration in Myanmar and Thailand.
