The ILO affirmed its commitment to the annual Community Press Awards, hosted by the Philippine Press Institute. Announced at the online awards ceremony on 8 October 2021, ILO will continue to support the award category of Best in Reporting on Labour Migration issues, won by Luzon-wide News Correspondent and the Daily Guardian this year.
The ILO will support engagement with local journalists to report on Filipino migrant workers, particularly in the fishing and seafood sectors. The awards ceremony was an opportunity to introduce Ship to Shore Rights SEA to the media community and the public, and to highlight the importance of fair and accurate journalism and reporting on labour migration issues.
