The ILO collaborated with the Local Manpower Office and the Local Marine Affairs and Fisheries Office of Central Java Province to conduct a training of trainers on occupational safety and health. Held on 20-21 February 2024, over 30 participants underwent a “Participatory Action-Oriented Training” to facilitate their new mandate to jointly inspect fishing vessels. Over the two-day training, the participants enhanced their capacity to address occupational safety and health during labour inspection of fishing vessels, as well as gained valuable technical knowledge and skills for providing the training to others.

ILO Launches Informational Brochures for Vietnamese Fishers on Labour Rights and Safety and Health
The International Labour Organization has published two essential brochures aimed at empowering Vietnamese fishers. The first brochure, titled “Stay safe and healthy while working on
