ILO Empowers Myanmar Businesswomen to Apply International Labour Standards in their Supply Chains

The ILO, working in collaboration with the civil society organization Women Transforming Myanmar, delivered a one-day training session titled ‘Labour Standards in Global Supply Chains’ in Yangon on 4 March 2024. The event aimed to empower 37 aspiring businesswomen managing micro, small, and medium enterprises in Myanmar to improve their business practices.

The training participants were able to gain knowledge of the relevant international labour standards that apply to their businesses. In addition, the training provided the participants with information on how they can develop and implement voluntary codes of conduct in relation to their businesses. The training will enable the businesswomen to take important steps forward towards more responsible business in their communities.
