The International Labour Organization has published two essential brochures aimed at empowering Vietnamese fishers. The first brochure, titled “Stay safe and healthy while working on a fishing vessel”, emphasizes the importance of occupational safety and health for workers employed in the fishing industry. It provides comprehensive guidelines and practices to ensure that fishers can carry out their work in a secure and healthy environment.
The second brochure, “Understanding workers’ rights aboard fishing vessels”, is dedicated to informing and educating fishers about their labour rights. By offering insights into the rights and protections afforded to workers, this initiative aims to empower Vietnamese fishers with the knowledge necessary to advocate for their own well-being and fair treatment.
