ILO Regional Director visits the Ship to Shore Rights South East Asia programme in Samut Sakhon

The ILO Regional Director for Asia and the Pacific conducted a field visit to Samut Sakhon province to gain a better understanding of the Ship to Shore Rights South East Asia programme interventions in the fishing and seafood processing sectors. A one-day visit was organized on 25th October 2022 to observe the ILO’s support to the Thai Government to strengthen the effectiveness of port-in port-out (PIPO) inspection of fishing vessels. The ILO officials also visited a private sector factory participating in the Seafood Good Labour Practice programme to learn about the progress achieved and challenges remaining in achieving decent work for women and men migrant workers in the industry.
