The ILO has renewed its support to the International Transport Worker’s Federation’s efforts to strengthen and expand the Fishers’ Rights Network (FRN). The two-year agreement will support FRN’s activities to organize migrant fishers and support freedom of association, educate migrant fishers with an emphasis on labour rights, occupation health and safety, and safe migration, and campaign for compliance with Convention 188 in Thailand. The support will also enable FRN to expand its footprint and build a new organizing centre as well as increase its capacity to provide services to migrant workers at its existing offices in Songkhla, Ranong, and Trat.
