Ship to Shore Rights SEA advocates for fair recruitment practices to be adopted by TTIA members

Ship to Shore Rights shared the fair recruitment principles and best practices with 26 members of the Thai Tuna Industry Association (TTIA), based on the ILO General principles and operational guidelines for fair recruitment and definition of recruitment fees and related costs, as well as other ILO research including global trends in recruitment fees and related costs and actual costs in Thailand. TTIA shared the current practices among their members, and their concerns related to recruitment fees and related costs. Ship to Shore Rights advocated that TTIA members adopt practices consistent with principles and guidelines, and in keeping with global best practices.
