In March and April 2024, the ILO supported the Migrant Worker Resource Centres in Thanh Hoa, Quang Ngai and Ha Tinh provinces to organize four information dissemination events focused on safe and regular migration. The outreach events were attended by 344 potential migrant workers, where participants were provided with accurate and up-to-date information on the procedures for regular migration, their labour rights during recruitment, the official costs associated with migration, legal requirements for employment contracts, and how to access assistance if their rights are violated.
A highlight of the event in Quang Ngai provinces was a panel discussion with return migrants who had worked in Korea so that they could share their personal experiences. There is often no better way to provide practical information to migrant workers than for them to receive it directly from their peers who have already gone abroad and returned.
