The International Labour Organization, together with Village Focus International and the Salavanh province migrant worker resource centre in the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, held a series of activities for prospective and return migrants on 8-10 February.
Serving as the highlight of the activities was a pre-migration training on safe migration, occupational safety and health, and labour rights attended by 29 prospective migrants (22 women)
The activities also included a market-oriented vocational training in which 18 return migrants (10 women) attended as well as the distribution of awareness-raising materials on safe migration and COVID-19 to 161 participants (88 women).
