Strengthening support for Myanmar’s migrant workers in the fishing sector with social dialogue

On 17 August 2021, Ship to Shore Rights SEA met with 42 stakeholders (24 women) in Myanmar, a key step in establishing the programme with partners and organizations.

The discussion identified key strategies in strengthening support for migrant workers in the fishing and seafood processing sectors in Myanmar’s current political climate. The dialogue concluded with the establishment of a Programme Advisory Committee, comprised of social partners and civil society organizations who will meet annually to provide strategic advice on the project’s activities.
