Ship to Shore Rights SEA organized a meeting with Thailand’s Director-General and Deputy Director-General of Department of Labour, Protection and Welfare (DLPW), Ministry of Labour to discuss technical cooperation and support on building an effective labour inspection system. Labour inspection plays a pivotal role in monitoring and investigating labour rights violations in the fishing and seafood processing sector. DLPW and S2SR agreed to further collaborate in enhancing DLPW labour inspection using a more comprehensive system change approach. The project will also support capacity building for both labour inspectors and interpreters in better identifying labour rights violations and preventing forced labour issues.
