Ship to Shore Rights SEA organized a meeting with Thailand’s Director-General and Deputy Director-General of Department of Labour, Protection and Welfare (DLPW), Ministry of Labour to discuss technical cooperation and support on building an effective labour inspection system. Labour inspection plays a pivotal role in monitoring and investigating labour rights violations in the fishing and seafood processing sector. DLPW and S2SR agreed to further collaborate in enhancing DLPW labour inspection using a more comprehensive system change approach. The project will also support capacity building for both labour inspectors and interpreters in better identifying labour rights violations and preventing forced labour issues.
The ILO partnered with the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) to organize a capacity building training
