Since 2017, the Seafood Good Labour Practice Programme (SGLP) has been implemented by the Thai Tuna Industry Association and the Thai Frozen Foods Association to improve labour standards in the seafood processing industry. On 30 November 2021, the ILO conducted a virtual workshop to share the preliminary findings of an independent assessment of the SGLP for review and feedback from 45 key stakeholders. The report assessed the development and implementation of the SGLP programme, evaluating its strength and weaknesses as well as providing recommendations for the future direction of the programme. Overall, the participants agreed with the findings of the assessment and reached consensus on the need to improve the implementation of the programme through social dialogue and collaboration among constituents and CSOs.
The ILO partnered with the International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations (IUF) to organize a capacity building training
