On 1 May 2024, the Trade Union Federation of Food, Beverage, Tourism, Restaurant, Hotel, and Tobacco (Kamiparho) organized a talk show in Bitung City to mark International Labour Day. Moderated by General Secretary Sulistri, the event focused on occupational safety and health and the protection of women workers in the seafood processing industry.

Following the talk show, a tripartite agreement was signed by Kamiparho. the Local Manpower Office, and the Indonesian Pole & Line and Handline Fisheries Association. The agreement aims to ensure workplace safety, protect women workers from discrimination and harassment, and promote collaboration among key stakeholders. An action plan for 2024 includes developing safety committees; providing training on occupational safety and health, gender equality, and financial literacy; and organizing workers in the formal and informal sectors.
