The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) collaborated with the Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) to host a foresight workshop on Inclusive Pathways to Sustainable Fishing and Seafood Processing in Thailand on 19 January. The event brought together 41 participants from government agencies, the private sector, civil society organizations, fishing communities, and academia. The workshop facilitated a vision-building exercise for a more inclusive, ethical, and sustainable future in the fishing sector, including the livelihood of migrant workers from neighbouring countries. Applying the results of the workshop, UNDP and SEI will finalize their research study, providing adaptive policy recommendations and interventions.
