Villages in four provinces of Cambodia had better knowledge about safe migration

Through a series of community outreach activities conducted in March, over 700 community members received information on safe migration, labour rights and human trafficking from the International Labour Organization and the International Organization for Migration.

The activities were held in Banteay Meanchey, Kampong Thom, Koh Kong and Siem Reap provinces, in collaboration with Migrant Worker Resource Centres and other implementing partners. Through these outreach events, potential migrants, returnees and their family members were improved their knowledge of safe migration practices and the support services available to them.

This information will help to enable community members in the target villages to make more informed decisions about labour migration and reduce their risk of experiencing exploitation and abuse should they decide to migrate for work.
