The Global Fund to End Modern Slavery views modern slavery as a crime of economic opportunity that they seek make unprofitable by working with the financial sector. GFEMS is testing replicable solutions to mobilize the financial sector against modern slavery by 1) equpping financial institutions with predictive tools to quantify forced labor risk in the supply chains of their portfolio companies and 2) supporting initiatives and forging partnerships with financial institutions, financial crime professionals, data and analytics experts, law enforcement, fintech, and civil society to improve efficiency and effectiveness of detection of illicit financial flows tied to traffickers.
