ILO and IOM co-organized the 8th cross-border cooperation meeting between Thai and Myanmar civil society organizations and trade unions virtually on 30 May 2024. The meeting was attended by approximately 50 participants, who discussed the key emerging issues in the Myanmar-Thailand migration corridor, particularly the impact of the new conscription law.
In addition, IOM shared the findings of its recent assessment of the MOU migration process, and the ILO supported the Human Rights and Development Foundation to share its policy brief on “Wage payment and Labour Rights Violations in Fishery Work”.
