The Ship to Shore Rights South East Asia (S2SR SEA) programme in Cambodia held its second National Programme Advisory Committee meeting 30 August 2023 to review progress and plan for the next year’s implementation. Key stakeholders from the government, employers, workers, and civil society organizations met discussed achievements, challenges, and lessons learnt so far. Highlights from the implementation of the programme to date include raising awareness among 20,000 potential and returned migrant workers, pre-departure orientations delivered, the provision of counseling, and legal aid for Cambodian migrant fishers. The 2023-2024 work plan was endorsed in the presence of H.E. Mr Hou Vudthy, Secretary of State, Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training; Mr Koen Everaert, Deputy Chief of Cooperation of the European Union Delegation to Cambodia, and Mr Tun Sophorn, ILO S2SR SEA National Coordinator for Cambodia.

ILO Launches Informational Brochures for Vietnamese Fishers on Labour Rights and Safety and Health
The International Labour Organization has published two essential brochures aimed at empowering Vietnamese fishers. The first brochure, titled “Stay safe and healthy while working on
