During 7 to 8 May 2024, the ILO supported Village Focus International to conduct enterprise development training to facilitate employment for returned migrant workers in the local job market. Held at the District Planning and Investment Office in Salavan province, the training drew 20 participants from nearby villages who were interested in starting small businesses.
The training sessions focused on crucial aspects of entrepreneurship, such as business start-up strategies, understanding product value chains, conducting assessments of market demand, and effective marketing techniques. Participants were actively engaged in group projects during the training, exploring community needs and evaluating opportunities for new businesses. Practical skills were also imparted to the training participants, including how to calculate the costs of raw materials to ensure business profitability.
