Nine Migrant Worker Resource Centres (MRCs) established under the Ship to Shore Rights South East Asia Programme attended training on 17-19 January to support delivery of information and assistance to migrant workers, particularly in the fishing and seafood processing sectors.

During the three-day training, participants from the Provincial Department of Labour and Vocational Training, trade unions and CSOs learned about good practices in assisting migrant workers. The training also addressed MRC operations, including developing communications strategies, implementation agreements, budgeting and finance, and monitoring and evaluation.

The training provided a particularly useful opportunity to support cross-learning. Participants from newly-established MRCs in Pursat, Koh Kong and Banteay Meanchey provinces were able to benefit from the sharing of experiences by the longer-established MRCs in Kampong Cham, Prey Veng, Battambang, and Kampot provinces.
