In conjunction with the 40th anniversary of Bolikhamxay Province, the ILO joined hands with the Migrant Resource Centre (MRC) in Bolikhamxay province to promote safe migration knowledge. At the event, the MRC distributed informative materials on safe migration and labour rights to 460 potential migrants (322 women).
To expand the reach of this information, the MRC collaborated with the Bolikhamxay provincial radio station to broadcast a special programme titled “Knowledge for Safety”. The interactive radio programme provides key information on safe migration and labour rights for potential migrant workers in the province, as well as local job prospects for returnees. The broadcasts regularly garner an estimated audience of 10,000 people across Bolikhamxay province.
