On 21-22 December, the International Collaborating Centre for Aquaculture and Fisheries Sustainability (ICAFIS) of the Viet Nam Fisheries Society spearheaded a meeting on occupational safety and health (OSH) on-board fishing vessels.
The event provided a platform for the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs, social partners, provincial fisheries departments, and representatives of fishers and shipowners to discuss the problem and propose solutions in relation to workplace injuries and diseases affecting Vietnamese workers on fishing vessels.
