With technical and financial support from the ILO, a total of 55 potential migrant workers considering seeking employment in the Korean fisheries sector under the Employment Permit System programme (EPS) were provided with information about safe migration and labour rights in Ky Anh and Thach Ha Districts on 16-17 January. Working in partnership with the Migrant Worker Resource Centre operated by the Ha Tinh Employment Service Centre, this support enabled the potential migrants to make well-informed decisions before seeking employment abroad. In particular, the sharing of firsthand experiences by returned migrant workers proved useful in helping them to understand the challenges they may face during overseas employment in the fishing industry.
