ILO and Viet Nam government trains recruitment agencies on the revised labour migration laws

ILO, in collaboration with Viet Nam’s Department of Overseas Labour (DOLAB) , supported two information dissemination sessions in November for 180 staff of recruitment agencies to disseminate the new legislation framework governing labour migration in Vietnam (Law 69 and its five sub-law). The training aims to ensure that recruitment agencies are aware of the new laws and regulations, and ensure that migrant workers are protected and a fair labour market is developed.

The information sessions provided guidance to recruitment agencies in relation to review business conditions in sending workers to work abroad; the settlement of problems, prohibition on charging excessive recruitment fees ; prevention of discrimination, human trafficking and forced labor, and support to migrant workers.
